Fortify.
Protecting homes and businesses across the Greater Toronto Area

A break-in starts at your weakest window.

Most intruders do not pick locks. They break glass — and standard glass gives way in seconds. Fortify installs professional security film that holds your glass together under attack, turning a silent, five-second entry into a loud, drawn-out struggle most intruders abandon.

The honest assessment

What security film does

We will not oversell it: security film is a serious upgrade, not an impenetrable shield. Here is a clear account of what it does, what it does not do, and how we decide whether it is right for your home.

What security film does

  • Holds glass together on impact instead of letting it shatter apart
  • Adds a tough, optically clear layer to your vulnerable panes
  • Helps delay and deter forced entry by buying time and making noise
  • Makes a quick smash-and-reach far harder to pull off
  • Stays low-profile and looks like ordinary glass
  • Lowers the injury risk from accidental glass breakage

What film doesn't do

  • Replace good locks, solid doors, and lighting (film is the strongest layer, not the only one)
  • Perform identically on every glass and frame, so we tailor the approach to each opening
  • Make glass indestructible on its own

The reality

A break-in takes seconds. The damage lasts far longer.

Most forced entries do not involve picked locks or disabled alarms. They begin at a single pane of glass, and they are over before a neighbour has time to look up. The figures below are why we treat every ground-floor window as a potential doorway.

Unprotected glass offers seconds of resistance — and a clear path inside.

See the difference

The same impact. Two very different outcomes.

One window becomes an open doorway. The other cracks, but holds — and the intruder stays outside. The film itself is optically clear, so your view and natural light do not change.

A window without security film after an impact — the glass has shattered and fallen out, leaving an open hole into the room — next to the same window protected with Fortify security film, where the glass has cracked from the impact but held together in one piece with no hole.
The same impact, with and without Fortify security film. Unprotected glass becomes an open entry point; protected glass cracks, but holds in place.

Common questions

Straight answers to common questions

Yes — within realistic limits. Security film holds glass together on impact so it resists shattering. An intruder who breaks the pane cannot simply reach through; the glass stays in place, and forcing it costs time and noise most intruders are not willing to spend. Film works best as the strongest layer in a sensible home-security setup.

Regular tint manages heat, glare, and privacy. It is thin, and it is not built for impact. Security film is a thicker, engineered safety film designed to keep glass intact when something strikes it. Some films offer both benefits, but the security performance comes from how the film is constructed and installed, not from how dark it looks. During your assessment we will explain the difference for your specific windows.

We install professional-grade security film as our standard, with heavier grades available for higher-risk applications such as large patio doors, ground-floor sidelights, and exposed basement windows. All film is optically clear, UV-blocking, and shatter-resistant. We will show you the full product specification sheet at your assessment — no vague claims, and no upselling on thickness you do not need.

Cost depends on how many panes you treat, their size and shape, and the options you choose, so we quote each home individually rather than quoting one flat number. Your free assessment includes a clear written estimate with no obligation.

It is a well-established product. Commercial, government, and high-end residential properties have relied on it for years; it simply receives less attention in everyday homes. Part of our job is to explain it clearly so you can decide for yourself. You will understand exactly what you are buying before you commit.

Four steps. First, you request a free assessment. Second, we visit, review your glass, and recommend what is genuinely worth doing. Third, we install your film cleanly and precisely. Fourth, we walk you through the result and your warranty. Most homes move quickly, and we respect your space throughout.
